Johanna Lucas (913)645-0939 Kansas City Athletic Cheer Policies and Financial Obligations Practice Policies: All competitive cheerleaders will be required to take a tumbling class in addition to their team time. This class fee is included in your monthly fee. The fee per month for most team practices and tumbling is $180 and is NOT prorated for vacations, absences, etc. . (Exception—Tiny’s are $50—no extra tumbling class required for this team. Mini’s are $155 and does include the extra tumbling.) Competition season is August through April. All practices during this time are mandatory. Please notify us via email (kcac@kc.rr.com) prior to 3:30 if your cheerleader will not be at practice due to illness or school event that results in a grade (this is excused). All set competitions are mandatory. There are no refunds on competitions. We will have your competition schedule to you in August and we try to our best not to deviate from that. KCAC offers extra tumbling clinics and summer camps. We encourage attending as many of these as possible to improve skills. Competitions: Please know that competition days are long and we ask that you block the entire day off for cheer (usually 8am—7pm). This does not mean that the competition will last that long, however, we do not know our performance schedule until a few days before the competition so we ask everyone to not make other plans for the day. KCAC does not provide transportation. All cheerleaders will arrive to competitions ready to go (uniform, make up, bow, shoes,…). All cheerleaders will go to the awards mat in complete uniform (no sweats, slippers, etc.) Competition Dates will be handed out in August. We try hard not to deviate from our set schedule. How do I become a member of a team? Fees are debited from your account on the 1st of every month. We do automatic draft. You may set up your preferred payment method via your portal system. Unfortunately, there are no exceptions to this. It is your responsibility to keep your form of payment up to date. Fees are based on a yearly fee schedule so your fees do not change if a practice is cancelled due to a holiday, vacation or inclement weather. KCAC, on occasion, does call extra practices. You will not be charged for these. Outstanding fees will result in removal from the team. All team members will be required to take an additional tumbling class with KCAC. This is included in your monthly tuition. You can anticipate $600-$800 in competition fees (based on which competitions we choose to do) (Note—Tiny, Mini and 4.2 teams will not do as many competitions thus the fees for these teams will be lower). Competition fees will be debited from your account in September, October and November. We split it up so it is not a huge financial burden in one month. The final cost for being a member of the KCAC team is Routine and Music fees. This year’s routine camp is July 24-30 and is mandatory for all members on our competitive team. We will also have stunt camp the week of June 21-25th. Camp for Mini and Tiny’s will be determined at a later date. They will not participate in the July 24-30 camp but will do the stunt camp the week of June 7-12. Specific times will be given at a later date. Teams will be finalized in July based on the level the athlete is at that time.
